Harcos Labs unveiled its newest creation today: Zombie Blood!

Zombie Blood has similar nutritional content to real blood, except it's iridescent green, lime-flavored, and in a biohazard specimen bag. An accompanying site for Zombie Blood, takes you on a tour of the facilities and process of harvesting the Zombie Blood for human consumption.

Most Painful Toy Hack Ever

In honor of the release of Nuclear Energy Powder, we decided to Nuke ourselves with a hack conceived by Aaron.

Aaron hacked a Mindflex toy brainwave reader to electrocute people if their brainwave frequency got too high (by concentrating). We took outputs off of the 5 level LED indicator, put the outputs through a transistor/resistor/relay circuit to give 2 levels of high voltage through an electric shock circuit right into the user's arm.

The result is hilarious. Aaron, Eli and Jon alongside our friends over at SMBC Theater test how long they can last before getting shocked by the device. You can watch the video below:

Cats Have Bloodlust?!

ComixConnection.com had a photo contest back in early December to find the best photo of a vampire using Blood Energy Potion. Well, they received only one submission, but it terrified us to say the least.

Not only do humans consume Blood, but as you can see in the photo above, cats do now too. We definitely don't recommend giving your feline friend a dose of Blood Energy Potion to help treat their need to claw, but if they happen to tie you up in a dungeon and steal your pouch of Blood, well, then you are on your own.

Mario Madness = Success

Mario Madness, a charity event we sponsored this past weekend for the benefit of Sailing for the Cure, raised over $3000 in online donations! They successfully completed 19 of their goals (which equals plenty of Mario game intenseness) over the course of the weekend, all while broadcasting live to the interwebs.

This past weekend, Aaron and I ventured up the great Northwest (Seattle to be exact) for Penny Arcade Expo. Harry from Aksys Games joined us at our booth and brought along with him some consoles loaded with BlazBlue and arcade sticks. To say the least, PAX was EPIC.

On each day we gave out thousands of Mana Energy Potion and Health Energy Potion samples, hosted BlazBlue tournaments and freeplay, and gave away tons of Mana/BlazBlue swag.

We also sponsored the AION Launch Party (bottles of Mana for everyone :D), which took place at the Space Needle. Aaron and I were extremely impressed with the event, but especially with the food. By the end of the evening, between the number of cheese-filled mushrooms Aaron ate alongside my demolishing the shrimp/cracker things and prosciutto-wrapped asparagus, we had done quite a bit of damage.

Aaron got some hands-on time with Left 4 Dead 2 ("Same thing as L4D: Still awesome"), Mass Effect 2 ("Awesome graphics" - Still playing Mass Effect at home), and also gave the NVIDIA 3D Goggles a shot. I got to play the game I have been waiting ages for: StarCraft 2. In an epic Protoss v. Protoss matchup, I checked out the new units, gameplay and graphics. Thankfully the hot-keys were pretty much the same, which made the crossover pretty easy and allowed me to come out victorious! Now just to wait for the game's launch...

The BlazBlue tournaments were a huge success with stiff competition coming from all areas of the US. The professional players made themselves known in the match-ups, and some unknowns also came to the forefront during the semifinals. Overall, pretty frakkin' impressive.

It was a pretty extreme weekend.

The Mana Energy Potions team went down to the Caged Ink event in Pomona, CA that had started Friday. Extreme epic fun was had by all as we watched intense Razor Scooter riders do backflips on halfpipes, played some Laser Tag, hung out with some awesome Ambigram artists, and got some hardcore people to try Mana for the first time. Success.

While we were being extreme in Pomona, the SpeedGamers were doing what they do best: rockin' at video games. This past weekend they held a Mega Man marathon to benefit the Earth Day Network. They once again passed their goal and raised over $7000 through online donations while they played through the MM series. Congratulations to the SpeedGamers for having another successful event and we were very happy to once again be a part! The next SpeedGamers marathon will be a Resident Evil marathon happening right around Halloween!

We came, we saw, we conquered (and Jon got chainsawed by Gail over at Aksys Games).

Mana Energy Potions made it down to San Diego Comic Con 2009 this year and gave out tons of swag, some Mana & Health, and got to hang out with some pretty cool people.

Aaron and Eli had the privilege of watching Gwar in Concert, but Aaron was extremely disappointed that he didn't get to see the Light Cycle from the new Tron...Extremely disappointed...

Fortunately, there are antique solutions for disappointment in nearby Seaport Village...

I got to go down there on Saturday, kind of meet Leonard Nimoy, walk through the sets of Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, and get some solid footage of first time testers of Mana:

SpeedGamers Exceed Goal

The SpeedGamers have passed their initial goal of raising $20,000 for ACT Today for Autism after less than 4 days of game play! They have set a new goal of $50,000 for the event. The event is still live for the next few days!

The SpeedGamers are attempting to beat Final Fantasy 1 - 12 over the course of 7 days, all broadcasting live alongside a gameplay feed, commentator video feed, and chat room.

We are the premiere sponsor for the event, and the top five donators will receive a super exclusive Mana Energy Potion Gift Pack, and the follow-up top five donators will receive a Mana wristband and 4pack of Mana/Health.

Calvin Yang: The promotion is nothing like the pure stealth or deadliness of Solid Snake. Besides, Solid Snake is too grumpy and self-centered for the comparison, not to mention he smokes too much. Lunia is a much friendlier and livelier environment. I suggest a comparison to Mario instead — kid-friendly, yet surprisingly deep and involved. When boosted with power-ups, Mario is invincible. On Friday, Daisuke Ishiwatari [video game developer and creator of Guilty Gear] and Toshimichi Mori [director, lead artist and designer of BlazBlue] were at the Aksys booth, pen-in-hand, signing autographs for fans of both series. If that wasn't cool enough, it was also (in my opinion) the best day of cosplaying. I mean, just look at these Pirahna Plants:

On Saturday, Ami Haruna, star of our G4 Mana Energy Potion commercial, joined us to help hand out samples, swag, and even sign a few autographs.

Overall, Anime Expo was a great success!

Anime Expo: Day One

Anime Expo started off fantastic!

We met up with the BlazBlue/Aksys Team at Anime Expo 2009 at the LA Convention Center this morning after Jessica (our Mana girl) and I dodged the mass crowds of Pika monsters, sailor girls, and intense swords to get inside.

We gave out Mana on the hour, every hour (with crowds lining up to 30 minutes before), alongside cool collector's cards and tattoos for those who stopped by.

This elf came up to us with his own concocted Mana and Health Pots on his sides, and soon became a fan of ours when he saw them. Tall blonde elf warrior dude, You rock.

Also, this was the most awesome mother/son combo at the show. Mom was Lakitu, and the boy was mini-Mario.

All of this fun in just one day? But alas, we have more days to come! Be sure to visit us and the Aksys Team if you are around Anime Expo!!

A new video game store, Game ON! Video Games and More, will be having its Grand Opening event this weekend (June 19-21st) in Salem, OH and Mana Energy Potions will be sponsoring it! On June 19th, we are sponsoring the Marine Corps Network Operations and Security Center 5th Annual Dodgeball Tournament on Marine Corps Base, Quantico, VA.

The event gives the Marines and civilians on the base a well deserved break from the "battles" they face on a daily basis, and a chance to join together for some friendly competition. It has grown over the years to have over 120 players, and this year is expected to be the biggest of them all.

Mana's E3 Wrap-Up

We were at E3 last week and, to say the least, it got us pumped for what is coming up next in the world of video gaming. Below are the items, gadgets, and games that we are looking most forward to here in the office:

Aaron: "I'm looking forward to Modern Warfare 2, Scribblenauts, Darksiders,
and most of all: Project Natal - but Milo needs to be less creepy."

Eli: "DJ Hero. I got to see the demo and it looked awesome."

Tuan: "Final Fantasy XIII. And DJ Hero looks like pure fun."

Jon: "DJ Hero for certain, but I'll also take a handful of Final Fantasy XIII, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, and L4D 2."

Libby: "I enjoyed playing with the new Wii Fit and pwned some boys in the SF IV tournament, but I definitely want to own Metal Gear Solid Peacewalker, and Trauma Team."

All in all, we were pretty psyched to have gone this year.

Mana Potions in the Mystic Emporium

There is nothing quite like going full circle: Taking an inanimate game object, making it a real life object, then taking that real life object and making it a game object again.

Mana Energy Potion and Health Energy Potion are featured in the new game Mystic Emporium, a unique time management strategy game where you purchase an old magic shop with hopes of turning it into a bustling, potion-brewing phenomenon. In addition to a story mode, there are mini games that pop up occasionally and feature our two products in-game!

In all honesty, we're hardcore gamers here, so we don't have much experience with casual titles. We prefer CounterStrike, Left 4 Dead, or 80 hours of an ancient RPG on a dilapidated system, and we usually don't take kindly to something that is easy to use and "charming." We were surprised and elated to find that Mystic Emporium is addictive and fun! Also, it's apparently a decent spectator sport because Aaron and Chad were cheering every time they survived a level. There's a really cool system where you can buy additional items for the magic shop to help with production. The build system gives the game the tiniest hint of an RTS, which is refreshing.

It seems we aren't the only ones who liked the game:

We had a great weekend at Fanime Con 2009! Ryoga Vee was kind enough to bring Mana Energy Potions alongside him to the event.

Vee hosted two drawing contests on Sunday, gave out Mana, and also premiered our commercials to the attendees (where there was an overwhelming positive response! WooT!)

Mana's Top 10 Anime

In honor of Fanime 2009 this coming weekend, we here at Mana Energy Potions have decided to put together a list of our Top 10 Favorite Animes (TV Series). So break out your spiked blue hair and J-Pop music, and let us know what you think:

10. Naruto
- A solid anime that we loved for the first 220 episodes. Then Shippuden came along and split our group apart: some loved it, some hated it. But all in all, we dig the original.

9. Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex
- If you can't tell from our Dart chaingun mod, we love cyberpunk culture. 'Ghost' gave us just that in an awesome fashion, and showed us a year 2030 that puts Terminator to shame.

8. Love Hina
- Jon swears by this show...as for the rest of us, meh...Just ask Libby her thoughts.

7. Trigun

- A solid follow-up to Cowboy Bebop by Shinichirō Watanabe, that features awesome breakdancing fighting styles and flying squirrels. Where else would you find this winning combination?

- Beautiful animation, great art direction, and a solid plot. Done, done and done.

That's right wizards and sorceresses, Mana Energy Potions will be making an impromptu stop at FanimeCon 2009 in San Jose this coming weekend. Ryoga Vee, parkour extraordinaire and G4 celeb, will be at Fanime on Sunday, May 24th on our behalf. He will have tons of Mana & Health Energy Potion to give out, as well as a few cool surprises in store.

Nothing makes us feel better about being in California than the occasional rocking and rolling that the ground below us gives. Today in the office we had the privilege of feeling a 4.1, just a few days after having a 5.1 that several of us had felt at home.

Aaron, when asked about the rumbling, simply replied "I thought it was just a semi passing by." Aaron had a similar experience a few weeks ago with not feeling the earthquake. "I was playing a racing game on the computer and I honestly thought it was the force feedback from the wheel that caused the shaking."

While talking to Aaron, we started to hear someone hammering, and found that Tuan was preparing a raft in his office out of his shelves. He had already stocked it with food, ginger ale, and comic books. He shouted at us, "Forget you fools! I am gonna live through this one! Yeeeeeeeee!"

A fan of our product sent us this photo his wife took of their daughter showing off her Health Energy Potion tattoo. All we know is this is one tough cookie you do not want to run into on a bad day.
